How can I make a scrapbook without actually buying a scrapbook?

by admin on July 13, 2010

My friend is moving next week and I want to make her a scrapbook of all the things we’ve done together. I went shopping yesterday and spent over $100, so my mom’s not giving me any more money. I have craft glue, tape, glitter, beads, construction paper, pictures, and everything else, but I don’t have a scrapbook. I’ve searched online on how to make the scrapbook, but I haven’t gotten any good answers. HELP!

This site tells you how to make one from cardboard:

And, this site tells you how to decorate a 3 ring binder to use for a scrapbook:

if you have construction paper you can put pictures on there and tie all the pages together with ribbon, or u can put it in a binder.

get A4 (or whatever size) of paper and make little holes down the sides and then get a nice colour ribbon and weave it inbetween the holes to hold the paper together and then stick pictures and sayings etc on the inside and decorate the outside and maybe curl the excess ribbon and hang it from the side.

Make her a photo collage – you can do that on the cardboard from the inside of a cereal box.

OMG I love to scrapbook! and sorry about your friend moving.. :( !!! Umm you could maybe get a cheap binder and then decorate the outside! that would be cute! u could have scrapbook paper as the cover and then put something like…"good times" or something else, with stickers! :D

Get an old textbook and make an altered book. glue your scrapbook papers onto the book pages, paint them, sew them, glue them and make a scrap book.

Okay, I’m off to finish gluing the pages of my geography text book that will be my travel journal/scrapbook.

Try using paper bags..To make a mini-album, use paper bags like the ones you use for carrying your lunch, or to make a regular sized album, the ones from the grocery store. The paper is more durable than construction paper. They are very commonly used nowadays to make inexpensive scrapbooks. (Search "paper bag scrapbook", you’ll see what I mean ;) ) Just cut out the bottom of each bag, then fold each bag in half. Stack a few on top of one another, then attach them together with staples or D rings. When they are attached, if the open flaps point out, they can be used as pockets for notes, journalling tags, etc.
